Vista Still Buggy
10.3.0 was seriously buggy, as was 10.4.0. I didn't find 10.3 stable until 10.3.2, and I didn't even try upgrading to 10.4 until 10.4.3 was out. At some stage, the retail Leopard DVD will be updated so it contains a later version, and it should be a lot more stable than going briefly through 10.5.0.

Interview: We sabotaged vista on purpose!
Lots of companies produce buggy software. Lots of people work for those companies. What's so special about Microsoft that would make people not want to work there if their software has some basic bugs? I don't think it was a "bug" per se. I think it was a deliberate attempt to make Vi$ta incompatible with

Well,
my biggest issues with Vista so far is actually on principles. I'ma huge privacy and fair use advocate. It really bothers me that when I'm running Vista it's not me who is ultimately in control of my machine, it's MS. They implement this control by way of the buggy DRM they put in Vista like WPA and WGA/N. It

Six is a large number of times to reboot a Macintosh in a two month period, in my experience, so I conclude Leopard is at present less reliable than Tiger was. Vista slow and buggy all over ...
It would not surprise me at all if more businesses still run Win2k and '98, than Vista. Damned if I have any interest in bailing from XP; after all, it's not been so long since MS worked out the significant bugs. Why jump into buggy frying pan now? There is a good logic in this, let others be the beta testers,

I know there's a limit to how much help you can get on these forums, but well, it would be nice if M$ had free tech-support, wouldn't it now?? ;) (esp for a such a terribly buggy product..) You have a new, recently purchased OEM computer right? If so then your main support is from the OEM. Not directly from MS.

Sony's contempt for its customers?
Windows 98 was a very unstable and buggy OS because of its kernel. WinXP was stable as a rock, and in managed memory far better. .... What do you suppose Microsoft did to make Vista so demanding of hardware resources? Did they do it on purpose, or did it just happen because of sloppiness?

The Vistas seen from Vista
I got so fed up with Vista, I removed it and put XP back on and my system just flies. Maybe when SP1 comes out, I might give it another try if I have a weekend to waste, but to be productive, XP is my answer now. Microsoft really screwed up on this one. Everything from the much larger and far more detailed icons to the desktop themes and prompt boxes are nicer to look at, use and actually do help in your enjoyment of Vista. So yes, a lot of new eye candy. There are many more subtle improvements. For example Explorer while still buggy, has been improved a lot.
